About MagmaAlert

Dedicated to Volcanic Awareness

Our Mission

MagmaAlert was built to provide a streamlined, accessible, and ad-supported way for users to track volcanic activity across the United States. Our mission is to take complex, critical alert data from official sources and present it in a calm, readable dashboard so you know exactly when a volcano's status changes.

Where Our Data Comes From

We believe in accuracy and transparency. All of the volcano status updates, webcam imagery, and hazard forecasts provided on MagmaAlert are sourced directly from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and their respective regional observatories (such as the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory and the Cascades Volcano Observatory).
While MagmaAlert acts as an aggregation and notification platform, it is not an official government entity. Always refer to local authorities and official USGS channels during active emergencies.

Who We Are

MagmaAlert is developed and maintained by a small, dedicated team of developers and geology enthusiasts who recognized the need for a modern, mobile-friendly interface for volcano monitoring. We strive to continually improve the platform by adding more volcanoes, expanding our educational resources, and ensuring our notifications remain fast and reliable.

Support Our Work

MagmaAlert is free to use. We support server costs and development time through contextual advertising served by Google AdSense and AdMob. We aim to keep these ads unobtrusive while providing you with high-quality monitoring tools.
Educational Commitment:
We are committed to providing educational resources alongside our live data. Check out our upcoming "Learn" section for articles on volcanology, hazard levels, and the science of eruption forecasting.
